Which Premier League players have contributed the most this season?

Hello, and welcome to the desolate wasteland that is the post-Premier League, pre-World Cup period.

There’s no need to be upset though, just think about the good times we had since the start of August 2017.

It’s been another belter of a season, but which players should be proudest of their achievements in this campaign?

We’ve compiled the top Premier League this season in terms of goal contributions. Simple maths, goals + assists = contribution. Let’s do this.

It would be mad to think Vardy was a flash-in-the-pan, one-season wonder, because he’s done it once again.

20 goals again for the Leicester man, and his party still hasn’t ended.

9= Riyad Mahrez – 12 goals, nine assists Getty Images - Getty

Remember Riyad Mahrez? You know, Algerian, winger, won the league with Leicester a couple of seasons ago? Yes, that guy! Well here’s some news for you – he’s still very, very good at football!

8 Roberto Firmino – 15 goals, seven assists Getty - Contributor

It’s easy to forget that Liverpool lost Philippe Coutinho this season, given the form of Salah and this man. He’s been superb this season, and the question of whether or not he’s underrated is now one of the UK’s favourite pub chats.

7 Romelu Lukaku – 16 goals, seven assists

You’d be foolish to think Lukaku has had a poor season this year. Yes, it’s not quite the heights he could, or should, be hitting, but he’s also playing in a Jose Mourinho side that seemingly detests attacking football.

6 Kevin De Bruyne – eight goals, 16 assists AFP or licensors

Man City’s metronome narrowly missed out to Salah in the end of season awards, and having earned plaudits across the board, England will be hoping he suddenly flops in five weeks time.

5 Leroy Sane – 10 goals, 15 assists AFP or licensors

There’s not many who can dislike the flying City winger. Technically brilliant with some flair to match, Sane has had a thoroughly good time in his second season in English football.

4 Sergio Aguero – 21 goals, six assists

It’s gone slightly under the radar at just how effective Aguero has been yet again this season. Another 20+ goal season under his belt, and a few assists as well. Well done, again, Sergio.

3 Raheem Sterling – 18 goals, 11 assists

Will 2017/18 be known as Sterling’s breakout year? The Man City star has been sensational, and his all-round game has come on leaps and bounds since Pep’s arrival.

2 Harry Kane – 30 goals, two assists REUTERS

Few England fans can complain about the first choice striker scoring a bucket full in a World Cup season. Please just do us proud out in Russia Harry.

1 Mo Salah – 32 goals, 10 assists Reuters

No great surprises here, but it does underline just how sensational the Egyptian King has been this season. A worthy winner of every award under the sun, and the stats to match.
